RED Scarf Project

January 16, 2007 at 9:00 am (Uncategorized)

What a COOL project this would be to do with a pre-teen or teenager!  I think my 12 year old and I are going to have to do this!

Love to  knit, crochet or know someone who does?

Send warmth and encouragement to America’s college-bound foster youth.  Orphan Foundation of America  needs thousands of handmade scarves to put in our Valentine Care Packages to these parentless youth attending college on their own.  Your handiwork will truly be the personal touch in these packages and bring students the encouragement they need to move forward and graduate to a brighter future. For over 25 years, OFA has provided funding and family-like support to foster youth in transition.

thanks for the link. We are always looking for ways to reach out to people in need. I looked into making other care packages for them. Righ now we are making valentine cards and treat baskets for a unit of troops we "adopted" in Iraq. I'm doing this in memeory of my grandaddy who spend 4 years of valentines days away from his wife and child back in world war 2.
