Dinosaur Week

September 18, 2007 at 10:08 am (Uncategorized)

My plan for first grade with my 6 year old daughter & preschool for my 3 year old son is to work our way through the Magic Tree House Books.  The 1st Book is Dinosaurs Before Dark, so that makes this Dinosaur Week at our house!  My basic plan for the week is to read the book, read the Dinosaur Research Guide, make a dinosaur lapbooks, visit our local Natural History Museum, watch a video on Volcanoes & do a couple Dino related crafts. (And maybe build a dirt volcano in the back and erupt it with baking soda and vinegar!)  My 3 year old will probably not sit through the reading of The Magic Treehouse books, but he will like the activities.

That’s the plan! We’ll see how much we actually get done!  LOL

Yesterday we read the 1st Magic Tree House book.  Actually we had it on CD since we got it free at Wendy’s this Summer.  So while we were listening the kiddos  drew pictures of dinosaurs and we made them into books.

Here are a few links that are related to the Magic Tree House series is anyone wants to join us on our time travel adventure!
