The Letter O

March 6, 2009 at 9:36 am (Uncategorized)

This week  at ABC Preschool class we are doing the letter O!

We will be making…

An Octopus Windsock http://www.first-school.ws/t/octopus3d.htm

And an Owl  http://www.first-school.ws/t/craft/owl_shapes_b.htm

I love owls!

For our letter of the week we will stick on hole reinforcements that look like the letter O on the letter O. (You can buy these in the office supply aisle. I got 540 for $1.99 so the kids can stick to their heart content!  LOL)

Felt Board Stories: Out in the Ocean and The Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly

Stories: One Green Frog and One Hundred Hungry Ants

Mystery Touch Box:  This week instead of the touch box we are going to be using our noses to smell things that begin with O.  WHAT?  I have an olive, an onion and an orange for the kids to smell! I will be putting them in little baggies and then in a larger paper bag so they can sniff them without seeing them.  How about that, O is for olfactory?  hehehe

Other Activities: Jack Jumps OVER the candle stick.  (I have a 5" pillar candle I put on the floor.  We go around the circle and each child gets to jump over the candle stick while we recite the Jack Be Nimble Rhyme with the child’s name inserted.  The kids LOVE this!)

Snack: Oreos

Happy Homeschooling,

Jamin
