Mad Science Kid's Day!

January 12, 2010 at 7:02 am (Uncategorized)

When we lived in Las Vegas one of the homeschool mom’s there hosted a weekly Mad Science class in her home.  At the time only my oldest was old enough for the class.  But, he LOVED it!  Now that my 2 littles are old enough to experience Mad Science I wanted to set something up for them.  So last week our homeschool group hosted 79 kids at a Mad Science day!  It was a blast!

What is Mad Science?  It is a science enrichment program that offers hands on science experience for children.  They offer a wide range of Science classes and demonstrations.  For our group we had 3 booths for the kids to travel through…Lasers, Dry Ice and Slime.  Here are some pictures of the FUN!!!

This is the Dr. Pepper the Mad Scientist that taught us about Slime!  (Polymers)

Slime is cool!

Each of the kids got to make their own Slime.

Coolio!

We had a full house!

Dr. Cosmic is helped by my little man with a Laser demonstration.

Here are the kids learning about dry ice. (carbon dioxide)

Best buddies!

Hands on Science!

Science is FUN!

As you can see we had a great time!  In case you are wondering we were able to do it on a budget of $5.00 per students.  You can learn more about Mad Science and and find a Mad Scientist near you HERE.

Happy Homeschooling,

Jamin
