Dragon Parade Puppet

In March our homeschool groups Kid’s Day will be Soups Around the World.  There are 6 locations that we will have tables and soup from: China, Italy, Mexico, Africa, Hawaii and Alaska.  Our family is assigned to group that is doing the China table.  Since Chinese New Year was last weekend it was a perfect chance to kick off our China study!  Saturday we joined another family in the group to go to the Dragon Parade at a local Chinese Mall.  Sadly I forgot my camera!  But, the kids had a blast and are SO excited to learn more about China now.

Since they loved the Dragon Parade so much I thought I would have them make their own dragon puppets.

Here they are!

My little man LOVED it at the Dragon Parade when the dragon breathed FIRE!  Notice we had to add fire to his puppet!

Here are my wiggly-giggly littles having fun with their puppets.

I found the free printable for this HERE.    You will also find free printable dragon masks and several other great Chinese New Year crafts at the link above.

Happy Homeschooling,
